You have defined what a result is, in your own current work please define what a result is, give example of a result you have achieved or you anticipate to achieve in near future.

In my current work as a field facilitator, a result can be defined as a specific output, outcome, or solution generated in response to a given input or task. It represents the successful completion of a job or the information provided in response to a user query.

Example of a result I have achieved: “Through the human-centered design project, the transition booklets have helped young youth voluntarily move from the adolescents of the CTC club to the adult group. The transition booklet is a prototype developed for AGYW and ABYM to guide them on how to transition from adolescent clubs to adult groups. It aims to build self-confidence and cope with the new environment as they join adult groups. USAID/Afya Yangu Northern Zone developed this transition booklet through a human-centered design Methodology implemented by https://matchboxology.com/. The solution rollout was addressed to the adolescents living with HIV (AGYW and ABYM) and it solves the lack of proper guidance and upskilling of adolescents in their communication and confidence as they move from adolescent clubs to adult groups.

Anticipated Future Result: The transition booklet will help adolescents living with HIV improve their confidence and communication skills as they move from adolescent CTC clubs to adult groups.

Hallow @Hellen. Thank you for sharing your result. I agree with you the booklet helped youth to transition to adult clinic. That is a result. Hongera sana. Anticipated future result don’t necessarily have to be on project, may be about yourself abilities, capacity etc. Remember a result is a change that can be measurable or describable. All the best

Hi @Peter Bujari. Thank you for your appreciation. Something is expected to happen or be achieved in the future as a result of my abilities, I can work with medical teams, clinics, or hospitals to ensure efficient patient care. I have the ability to take on a role that might be responsible for organizing health camps, awareness programs, and follow-up visits for patients, as well as gathering data and feedback to improve healthcare services my abilities and skills are to increase my effectiveness in facilitating groups, leading discussions, problem-solving, and collaborating with diverse teams. I can also focus on improving my communication, leadership, and organizational skills, as these are essential qualities for success.
    Thank you!

An example of a result that I have achieved in my job is making the 3 families I monitored for the past three months to have transparency concerning their HIV status among themselves and the bond between parents and children increased. Parents were able to know the dreams of their children and supported them.

Thanks @Winnie for sharing your result. So in your case the result is that the bond within family members increased and they know the vision of their children. In other words family cohesion or quality of life improved. This is both quantitative ( 3 families) and describable improving family relationship. Hongera

Presently, I am in the position of a field facilitator, entrusted with the implementation of the USAID AFYA YANGU NORTHERN PROJECT, firmly anchored in the principles of the Human-Centered Design approach. This initiative’s primary objectives encompass two distinct accomplishments, indicative of quantifiable and observable transformations anticipated upon project culmination. These achievements collectively mirror the affirmative influence our endeavors are having on the community’s healthcare-seeking behavior and overall quality of life.
To realize these envisioned outcomes, I have achieved intermediary results stemming from a diverse array of activities executed during the project’s implementation phase. Through impactful narratives, we have fostered unity within five families by diminishing certain barriers. Moreover, a growing number of individuals have exhibited readiness to openly discuss their health conditions or share their health statuses with their families, facilitated by the “Njoo Tusemazane” storytelling game.
Furthermore, within the realm of HIV-positive youth, out of the 25 individuals I engaged with, I successfully guided four adolescents in transitioning from youth clubs to adult groups, leveraging the “MASHAURI” transitional booklet. This resource was designed to empower youth by furnishing them with a range of practical insights and skills, fostering self-sufficiency.
Looking ahead, I am planning to amplify my impact through targeted workshops and immersive sessions, aiming to establish collaborative partnerships and effective communication channels with healthcare organizations and community. This collaborative effort seeks to enhance community access to superior healthcare services. As I continue to fulfill my role as a field facilitator, my aspiration is to perpetuate the momentum of success, further cultivating positive outcomes within the community.

Dear @Annifa. Thank you for sharing your results. Very impressive. Could you be brief? State exactly what you understand by result and state the results. In your description for example, the change is 25 youth graduating to adult clinic. Ensure the change is measurable or describable. All the best

The long-term result of the current project I am working on (USAID Afya Yangu Northern Zone) is to help people have an improved ability of individuals to practice positive health-seeking behavior that can be achieved through a Human-Centered design approach. An intermediate result achieved is the development of 5 prototypes that we are expecting to test in the Manyara and Dodoma regions in helping people have knowledge about HIV, prevention from mother-to-child transmission, and Pediatric viral suppression.

@peter_bujari I am currently working on USAID Afya Yangu Project in Geita. In my project, I have achieved increase of people reached by Community health workers I oversee from 2900 upto 5000 and counting. I am currently anticipating people who will be reached in the next month to be more than 6000 people. regardless of the desirable results we also put effort in to providing quality results for the project.

A result is an observable and measurable outcome or consequence that occurs as a direct or indirect consequence of specific actions, efforts, or interventions. It can be short or long term. The long-term result of the project I working on is to improve health seeking behavior in the community through the the approach of Human Center design. Example of result that I have achieved is unity within five families by diminishing certain barriers. Moreover, a growing number of individuals have exhibited readiness to openly discuss their health conditions or share their health statuses with their families and also I successfully guided 4 adolescents in transitioning from youth clubs to adult groups.

We have now finished defining levels of results; you met a colleague who decided not to attend the RBM course. He tells you there is nothing you are learning. You now want to prove to him that you have learnt something. Briefly define results and levels of results. Use your current work to show him/her example of output, outcome and impact.

an example of a result in my working environment, i work with the claims team at the hospital and over the past years we had very low revenue and huge rejections frm the insurance companies, the hospital decided to make a permanent team that will deal the insurance claims. As part of the team, i had to analyze and know what we were doing wrong. after knowing that we had low knowledge of how to settle our claims, i decided to arrange meetings with the doctors from the insurance company who reject our claims so that they can teach us on reasons they use to reject our claims. after several meetings and sharing of knowledge, our team improved on settling our claims. the result was a rise in the amount of claims we made each month and also decrease in the amount of rejected claims. another result was a proposal of formation of rejection team which could reconcile for the rejected claims, which has already been approved by the hospital.

I would tell my colleague, we have learnt many things but the greatest of all is the change of our perspectives when it comes to results, first a result is measurable and can be described, that is you can have a qualitative and/ or quantitative result. Second we should have a specific result and then create activities that will help us attain that goal, by defining the expected results it is easy to push up till we reach it. Third, through the activities (inputs) we will define the three levels of our results as output then outcome and impact. The output is the immediate product from the activities(input). The outcome will be the short term and medium term results and the impact will be the long term effects.
An example, our problem is receiving critical/severe traumatic patients from peripheral hospitals whose level of severity could be reduced before reaching the hospital.
our expected results: Reduced severity (qualitative) and number (quantitative) of traumatic patients from peripheral hospitals.
Analysis of the problem we determined two causes 1. doctors in the peripheral hospitals had little knowledge and skills on handling emergency/traumatic patients 2.most road users had little knowledge on road safety especially bodaboda riders who account to more than 80% of patients and they didn’t wear protective gears.
Our input will be forming two activities 1. workshops with the doctors from peripheral hospitals to give them skills and knowledge 2.seminars with the bodaboda riders on importance of road safety and use of protective gears.
Our output will be increased knowledge and skills on managing traumatic patients among doctors, and increased knowledge on road safety among bodaboda riders.
Our outcome will be reduced severity of the traumatic patients that arrive from the peripheral hospitals
Our impact will be reduced number of road accidents and improved survival and quality of life of traumatic patients in the peripheral hospitals.

This is only possible through learning RBM course.
